NEW CUMMINS® 12V VALVE SPRING COMPRESSOR
FOR THE HAMILTON CAMS
VALVE SPRING AND RETAINER CVSC040
NEW DESIGN FEATURES AN HARDENED ALUMINUM TOP COMPRESSOR PLATE
Reducing valve train mass (weight) has many benefits for a performance Cummins® diesel engine. Less weight in the valve train allows the potential of turning higher RPMs before valve float sets in. As a general rule, every gram of weight reduction will allow you to rev your Cummins® 12 valve diesel by 35 to 40 RPM. Reduce your valve train mass by 10 grams and you have the potential of 350 to 400 MORE RPM.
How do you reduce valve train mass? Zach Hamilton of Hamilton Cams has developed two unique ways of reducing mass in a high performance Cummins®12V diesel engine. Zach and his crew make the famous beehive valve spring and retainer. Why a beehive shaped valve spring? The spring shape reduces mass (weight) in the area that does most of the movement. The base of the spring is the same diameter as a stock Cummins® valve spring while the top has a reduced diameter.
Because Hamilton Cams modified the valve spring, they had to reduce the diameter of the Cummins® valve spring retainer. They chose to model their retainer after the bulletproof LS1 valve train. As you can see, the top of the spring is smaller in diameter than the base. Less mass = higher RPM before valve float. Higher RPM = more horsepower! It's that simple!
We have been working with Zach to design a valve spring compressor made specifically for his retainer design. The CVSC020 didn't work well as the raised portion of his retainer interfered with the compressor plate. The keeper angle and diameter is different than a stock Cummins® 12 valve retainer.
Because of Zachs' design, we modified our top compressor plate to fit the Hamilton Cams Cummins 12V retainer. The bridge remains the same as our other valve spring tools. The CVSC040 top plate is now made of billet aluminum which has a black industrial grade anodized finish. Your pencil magnet won't stick to the new design compressor plate.
Get your Cummins® ready for the racing season with a Hamilton Cams valve spring kit and a Tork Tools valve spring compressor. Included in the CVSC040 valve spring compressor kit is the steel bridge, hardened fasteners, 6mm Allen wrench, anodized top compressor plate and complete instructions.
The CVSC040 is at the introductory price of $45.95. Order today. We will ship the same day!
